What is faucet Chrome Plating?

Faucet Chrome Plating is a process of plating a metal with a thin layer of chromium. It is applied to brass, zinc alloy, plastic materials etc.. The surface of faucet should be without cracks and pores and impurities to be able to undergo chrome plating. The first layer is nickel plating and later the faucet becomes chrome plated.

Faucet chrome plating is a process that can be applied to various metal and plastic surfaces to form a protective and decorative coating.The thickness of faucet chrome plating will depend on the type that you are looking for. A common standard thickness for faucet chrome plating is 0.1 to  0.3 micrometres and nickel plating  is 1 to 3 micrometres;

The higher standard of thickness of nickel plating is 7 to 10 micrometre even more than 10 mircrometre, and chrome plating thickness is 0.35 to 0.5 micrometres even more 1 micrometres. It should be noted that the thinner the chrome coating, the more easily it will peel off or wear off.

Good electroplating, or thick electroplating layer, will have to pay more cost. It has better corrosion resistance on the product surface and is not easy to rust.

TIn addition to using professional instruments to detect the chrome plating thickness, the quality of faucet electroplating can also be measured from another aspect, that is, acid or neutral salt spray test. The corrosion resistance time of a good plating surface layer will be longer. Generally, the plating surface can pass the 96 hour neutral salt spray test.

Of course, the use environment of the faucet also has a vital impact on the surface of the electrodeposited coating. For faucets often used at the seaside, the acid-base ratio in the air is much greater than that in the inland air, so the surface of faucets in this envhttps://www.faucetproducer.com/https://www.faucetproducer.com/products/https://www.faucetproducer.com/products/https://www.faucetproducer.com/https://www.faucetproducer.com/https://www.faucetproducer.com/products/ironment requires changing the electroplating layer, or other surface treatment processes, such as PVD process, or changing to stainless steel faucets. The daily surface maintenance of the faucet after use is also very important for the electroplating of the faucet surface.
